The spiral symbol is one of the most common and perhaps one of the first crayon masterpieces we attempted as toddlers! This symbol is so compelling somehow, could it have anything to do with the fact that it is a spiral galaxy which we call home? The spiral had a deep meaning for many ancient civilizations and appears in megalithic art as carvings in stone, in ancient Chinese art, where it is thought to have been a symbol for the sun, in Celtic culture, as well as being in numerous patterns of the Nazca Lines of Peru. And if you think of nature, you’ll encounter it endless times, like the spiral shape of sea shells, in vines, whirlpools and tornadoes.
I thought I’d leave my own contribution to the spiral art with this collection in fine silver.;
