I am Silvana Mallia and  Firecrafted Handmade Jewellery is a venture I started to work on some years
ago, when I discovered the wonderful world of precious metal clay.  Using this medium, I design
and create beautiful jewellery for those who appreciate quality handmade goods, and especially contemporary handmade jewellery. 

My home and workshop are in St Paul’s Bay, on the Mediterranean island of Malta. From an early age I have been into all that is creative, with interests in drawing, crochet and crafts in general.
I also loved jewellery, and this, together with my desire to create, developed into a passion,
initially with my design of beaded jewellery and later opening also a whole new journey with precious metal clay.  The versatility of this material enables me to explore endless design possibilities in fine silver, bronze and other precious metals. This is not actually clay of course,
but precious metal particles rendered into a clay-like consistency that helps facilitate the shaping of a jewellery piece.  It also comes with the added bonus of it being recycled metal!   
​I enjoy adding other elements to my work, especially natural stones and pressed flowers, as well as semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls or Swarovski elements.

I am self taught, and I cannot say that I am inspired by any specific element.  Sometimes it's our beautiful sea, our nature, our local lace, but also interesting pattern in everyday things or even happenings.
